Georgia E-Visa FAQs
- Yes, all Indian passport holders require a visit to visit Georgia. Indians are eligible for an eVisa. The electronic visa system (eVisa) will allow Indians to receive Georgia visa online, relieving them from necessity to submit original documents or visit Georgian Embassy or Consular Office.Once your visa application is approved, you will receive the visa copy via email right in your inbox.
- An Electronic Visa or “e Visa” is an electronically issued and stored authority for travel to The Republic of Georgia, which replaces the traditional paper visa process in most cases.
A Georgia visa is a legal document which lawfully allows its holder to enter and stay within the country for a certain number of days as mentioned on the visa.After receiving your Visa through email, print it out and carry it along when you travel to Georgia.
- Short stay – Indians who are visiting Georgia for short-stay purposes must apply for an ordinary visa. An ordinary visa shall be issued, to persons arriving in Georgia for tourism purposes; to persons arriving in Georgia to visit relatives and friends; to persons arriving in Georgia to hold business meetings and negotiations.
- C1 category – to persons arriving in Georgia for tourism purposes. Ordinary visas of the following categories shall be issued:
- C2 category – to persons arriving in Georgia to visit relatives and friends;
- C3 category – to persons arriving in Georgia to hold business meetings and negotiations; participants of scientific workshops, conferences or other research, pedagogical, cultural or sports events; persons arriving in Georgia to engage in journalistic activities; crew members of ships anchored in Georgian harbours, unless visa-free travel of the crew members is provided for by an international agreement of Georgia; principal drivers and co-drivers of cargo/passenger vehicles during international cargo/passenger transportation;
- C4 category – to persons arriving in Georgia to receive or provide humanitarian assistance during situations posing risk to life and health, or to carry out charity activities; a guardian or a custodian of a Georgian citizen; persons under guardianship or custody of a Georgian citizen; persons arriving in Georgia for medical reasons; persons visiting graves of relatives and friends; persons arriving for pilgrimage and establishment of religious contacts;
- Official visit – Indians who are visiting Georgia with official visit purposes must apply for diplomatic or special category short-term visa. This visa type shall be issued to top officials of foreign legislative and executive authorities, to members of foreign delegations; persons holding business/official passports and arriving in Georgia on a working visit; based on the national interests of Georgia, to persons arriving in Georgia on various missions.
- Diplomatic rotation – Indians who are visiting Georgia with the purpose of diplomatic rotation must apply for diplomatic or special category long-term visa. This visa type shall be issued to employees of diplomatic and equivalent missions accredited to Georgia, and to consular officials and their family members; to employees of representation offices of international organizations located in Georgia, who have been granted the diplomatic status by Georgia, and to their family members.
- Transit – Transit visas shall be issued only for transiting the territory of Georgia (10 days) in order to enter a third country.
- Immigration – Indians who are visiting Georgia for immigration purposes must apply for an immigration visa. This visa type shall be issued to persons arriving in Georgia to conduct labouractivities; to persons arriving in Georgia on scientific, sports, cultural or educational mission; to persons arriving in Georgia for family reunification
